With more than 25,000 residents, Marshfield is an expansive town on the South shore and is comprised of several sections including Green Harbor, Rexhame, Marshfield Hills, Ocean Bluff, and Brant Rock. With miles of coastline, Marshfield is a well-known beach community on the South Shore, popular with year-round residents, summer renters, and owners of summertime beach homes. Also a signature of Marshfield is the abundance of salt marshes that cover the outskirts of this South Shore town and give it its name.
Marshfield borders Norwell, Pembroke, Scituate, and Duxbury, and is accessible to both Route 3A and Route 3. In addition to the town’s numerous beaches including Ocean Bluff, Rexhame, Fieldston, Brant Rock, Blackman’s Point, and Green Harbor, the town has a rural characteristic still present in their long-established farms and meadows. Marshfield’s rich history is still apparent in the town’s big New England farmhouses and colonials. Closer to the water, home buyers can expect small beach cottages and expansive, renovated beach homes, as well as a nice mix of traditional capes, ranches and colonials in neighborhood settings.
